Welcome to SONATA BRASILEIRA, the first tribute to Brazilian piano Sonatas
Originally created in the Old World, the SONATA form enchanted Brazilian composers, who themselves composed overwhelmingly beautiful masterpieces. As a forward-looking delirious fantasy, here, the SONATA form portrays a plural and fancied Brazil with multiple facets, stage of profusion of different traditions, nations and cultures.
We will experience a multitude of colors, tones and sensations, whether hearing Camargo Guarnieri’s vivid Sonata, translating the universal feeling of anguish and triumph, not to mention Villani Côrtes Sonata, and its echoes of a child’s universe.
Joining the team are Sonatas composed by André Mehmari and Marcelo Amazonas. Original and fresh, they show us a mixture of influences from different Brazilian Schools of Music. Local rhythms like baião and maracatú, bringing rural and backlands fragrances; and also “choro”, a Brazilian rhythm with a urban and popular lyrism, in addition to “bossa nova” and the contemplative peacefulness of the Brazilian coastline.
And thus Music, intoxicating course of affection, maze of reminiscences, where we find and lose ourselves, once again proves that through Art, traditional and contemporary can live in harmony, staring each other in connivance, although not losing their identity.
While listening to SONATA BRASILEIRA, you will have the chance to visit numerous landscapes, styles and influences... In other words, you will be able to experience a multiracial music, which after all, is one of the qualities that better define the Brazilian people.
